Parenthood is a beautiful thing. Some would say it has been the driving force that has caused humanity to flourish. However, being a parent is not always easy. In fact, it is one of the hardest challenges a human being can face. So much so that absolutely nobody has had or been a perfect parent. Not all is bad though, most of Mexico’s families have two parents who can (they not always do) share and distribute their responsibilities so that they are not as heavy on any one’s shoulders. Taking into account that being a parent is as hard as it is, being a single parent is much harder. This is why, once all of the options have been assessed and properly considered, abortion can be seen as a good option.
Abortion can be looked down upon, but it is an option worth considering. It can be a great option for would-be single mothers. First of all, having a child is very time consuming. When raising a child, the parent is demanded to give up the majority of their time in order to provide an at least decent upbringing for their child. However, this forces the parent to not have time to do other things such as having a full time job or taking some time in order to blow off some steam. Given that it is necessary to give up so much time, single parents tend to be pretty lonely. So, by becoming a single parent, you are giving up the majority of your time.
Being a single parent is incredibly emotionally draining. The single parent will have to lay all of the groundwork for their child’s education. Single parents have no support other than themselves, which can be very stressful.
Finally, being the child of a single parent is also difficult. These children, just as the single parent, have to deal with the lack of a second parent. This, although possible, is definitely not ideal.
Taking into account all of these disadvantages, having abortion as an option may not be such a bad idea.
